Since this Covid-19 stage, our main concern has to be now in maintaining our health system. We need to be both mentally and physically fit. If we today neglect our health and work constantly, there comes a time when our immune system becomes totally weak. And 90 percent chances are there, that we are bound to catch this deadly disease of Corona virus.
How to Overcome Your Fears
We, humans, must believe in our abilities or our potential that we have. If we do not understand this fact, we will most surely fail in Overcoming our fears. The moment when we doubt our efforts, that is the point when our progress starts declining. ‘Who can understand you better than yourself?’ If you have the very faith in your abilities, you can, with time gain perfection in any difficult task that you pick. With your confident efforts, all the results will be in your side. Be it Sports, be it Education or Music or any art, what requires achieving success is the belief in your abilities. Don’t ignore this fact. If you underestimate yourself, others will also start ignoring you. To conquer your ‘worst fears’, you must have full faith in your abilities or potential. That is the main key to progress. We all humans do have particular fear in us. Some people have a fear of heights. Some have a fear of flying in planes. Some have stage fear, etc. But do we realize that where the fear resides. This fear resides in our minds. Yes! It resides there and drives us towards failure. If we are not confident or trust in our abilities, we are bound to fail. Take an example of a good Swimmer who had won medal in the Olympics. If we ask him about his ‘road to success, he will indeed mention the primary key to his achievement was his Self-belief or Confidence in his veins that drove him to Success. Unless one follows this, we can hardly reach the highest level of success, we want or desire in our life. Also consider your own example, when you were a student, you must have the fear in scoring good marks in the subject you disliked. For all students are not good in every subject that they read. Some dislike Maths as they find it boring and repetitive. Some dislike English for they think that they can’t do well in grammar. Others may have a hatred for difficult languages like Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, etc. But the ‘truth’ is that no subject is such challenging as they seem. It’s only in our heads; we create fear. We ignore the fact that we can secure good marks in any subject we want by our diligent efforts and regular practice or learning. So, Practice also becomes another key to overcome our fear. We may fail in our first or second attempts, but we will surely overcome all our fears and achieve progress in any field we choose with gradual effort and practice. A stable career requires a sound mind and confident steps. So, never again think that you can’t overcome your worst fears! Article By: Salma Afreen, The Literature Times
World Cancer Day – 4 Feb
World Cancer Day is an international day marked on Feb 4 that targets misinformation to raise cancer awareness and reduce its stigma. This day is led by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to support the World Cancer Declaration’s goals, written in 2008. This Day’s main aim is to significantly reduce illness and death caused by cancer and is an opportunity to rally the international community to end the injustice of preventable suffering from Cancer. The United Nations observe it. This Day gives us information about this ‘life threatening disease’, cancer, and encourages its prevention, detection and treatment. This year’s World Cancer Day 2021 Theme is “I AM and I WILL”, which acknowledges that everyone has the capacity to address the cancer burden. This stresses a valid point that if we have the faith and desperation in our ‘veins’, we can easily fight against this deadly disease despite all odds coming in the way. We can overcome barriers to early diagnosis and treatment of it. We should pledge together on this day, to work together to improve Cancer control and achieve global targets to reduce premature mortality from Cancer. World Cancer Day is the one ‘Singular initiative’ under which the entire world can together fight against the Global Cancer Epidemic. Every year, it takes place on 4th Feb to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness of this dreadful disease. UICC continues to work efficiently on the success and impact of this Day and is committed to ensure that the ‘year-on-year’ event of this Cancer Awareness Day is being seen and heard by large group people throughout the world. Its awareness is must for the prevention of this deadly disease. If we all humans work together harder on this day and after it, we can easily create immediate awareness of it. We should discuss the awareness of the ‘Cancer’ disease on our social platforms and on all media platforms to educate people about its early ‘cure and treatment’ to stop cancer suffering patients’ uncertain deaths. This Day’s matter is ‘the Global Uniting Initiative’ carried on by the UICC. UICC highlighted this issue and expressed gratitude towards the Medical Workers like the Doctors, the Nurses, the Volunteers, the Researchers, and the Caregivers. They have also voiced ‘praises’ for the Government Agencies all over the world who worked for this past year since the Covid-19 pandemic unrelentingly. The World Cancer Day’s awareness will surely curb the alarming death rates of this deadly disease in coming future. Article By: Salma Afreen, The Literature Times
Indian Education System Post Pandemic
With this sudden outbreak of the Corona virus, almost all the Indian economic sectors have been adversely affected. Our Indian Education System has come to a standstill since the beginning of this Covid-19 situation and it is persisting even in the ‘post-pandemic’ stage. Whether it’s the schools or colleges, whether it’s the placement or the Entrance examinations, all the educational system and its working pattern have been seriously disrupted. Classes have been suspended and exams at different levels are being postponed or even canceled. The admission process has also been affected in almost all states of India. Most of the recruitment got postponed with this outbreak of this deadly disease. Students’ placement may also be concerned with Companies delaying students’ recruitment. The unemployment rate is expected to be increased due this pandemic. The working pattern of the Indian Educational System has been affected. Be it Schools or Colleges; all have suffered significant losses both in terms of propagation of proper education and also in getting monetary gain. The Online Teaching and Learning method proved to be a ‘failure’. This system created more a kind of chaos than solving the students’ queries. The so-called digital platform of e-education could not produce desired results as expected. Both the teachers as well as the students’ interest could not be built fairly. Moreover, the teachers could not correctly assess the students’ performance during this entire academic year of 2020. And it happened as this online education method has led to many unfair practices of cheating during the online exams. And hence, many schools and colleges have preferred to give ‘grades’ instead of ‘marks’. Another drawback of online education was that the rural and backward areas where the internet facilities are not so good, the students there could not follow this pattern and suffered a lot. Despite these significant problems, the e-education method still gave the Indian Education system a ray of hope. They had continued their curriculum during and post this pandemic with its help. When all the Educational Institutions will be re-opened, several norms will have to be strictly followed as per the Indian Government’s led criteria of teaching and learning method. From maintaining social distancing, wearing masks to the adoption of sanitisation rules must be kept in mind to tackle the spread of this contagious disease that had taken so many lives. Though we know that the present Covid-19 situation had hit the core of our Indian Education System but still India has left no stone unturned in coping up with this serious situation of Covid-19. It will definitely take few years for the Indian Education system to bring back its smoothness. Everything will be on the right track with constant initiatives taken by both the Indian Government and the Educational heads from tackling all the employment and placement issues. The Traditional method of ‘face to face’ teaching and learning will slowly and steadily revive back the lost zeal and confidence among the students who will automatically improve their academic performances.
