Tribhanga is the story of women from three generations. The saga of love, ego and sensibilities are expressed from the three generations through the three characters. Senior actress Tanvi Azmi played the role of Nayanthara, who is a famous writer. Her daughter, Anuradha, played by Kajol, is a renowned actress. Anuradha’s daughter Masha, played by Mithila Palkar, is a practical married woman. Nayanthara and Anuradha share a turbulent relationship with hassles, and in turn, Masha is completely emotionless towards her mother, Anuradha. The story’s crux is about these complexities Anuradha and Masha face when Nayanthara slips into a coma.

With such ace actors from three different generations of Hindi Films, the movie treats cinema lovers. Tribhanga is a serious women-centric film that runs on troubled relationships in a family but is often ignored or not talked about. The movie showcases the metamorphosis of mindsets when women belong to different generations. The performances are real and honest. Though the story is dark and a family drama, the underlying factor of relationships’ and their importance is shown well.

Some dialogues and the emotional connection is illustrated well. However, the movie lacked the pace, and the amount of over drama irked me. Certain scenes show the old acts of mother-in-law, and her orthodox drama may not allure this generation of youngsters. But, on the other hand, the perfect acting sequences satiated the movie lover in me, and I felt happy that the movie ended on a good note. It s a good ride of 90mins emotional drama. Though a little slow, the movie can be watched.
