Cooking Feelings with Some Memories
Do you like cooking? A lot of you don’t know this, but I love to cook. Growing up with the stay-at-home mom, I had spent time assisting her in the kitchen. Although she never allowed me to cook, fearing that I might eventually burn my face. I absorbed whatever she did, how my mom would chop the vegetables, how she would sauté the onions until they were brown, how she would keep things prepared in the evening for my next school tiffin in the morning.
Autistic Child Is Not Invisible | World Autism Day
When a child has a cold, fever, typhoid, flu, etc., we speak to our family, friends and society. But if your child has Autism, then what happens?
Why is it taboo to say “Autism” in a group or to someone? It becomes a private conversation between you and your physician. No parent is prepared to hear that a child has anything other than happy and healthy.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Life in Saudi Arabia
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the most important country in the Arab Peninsula. It is approximately the size of the U.S.A. East of the Mississippi River. Saudi Arabia is bordered by the Arabian Gulf, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Yemen and Oman. Saudi Arabia believed to be a regional and intermediate power. Many people still don’t know Saudi Arabia’s name, and some think Saudi Arabia is part of Dubai – NO Dubai and Saudi Arabia are two different countries. Here, I would like to introduce Saudi Arabia to everyone. Quick Facts: Form of Government: Monarchy Head of State & Government: King Salman Capital: Riyadh Official Language: Arabic Official Religion: Islam Monetary Unit: Saudi Riyal (SR) The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia celebrates its National Day each year on September 23. The flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is rectangular in width, representing two-thirds of its length. It has a green background inscribed in the middle with the Islamic Shahada. Below, there is an Arabic word whose handle turned towards the flagpole. The flag of Saudi Arabia shall not be suspended at half-mast or touch the ground or water concerning the Shahada written on it. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s national emblem is composed of a palm tree atop two crossed Arabic swords. Swords symbolize strength, endurance and sacrifice, while palm represents vitality, growth and prosperity. Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of Islam. Mecca and Madina are the two cities where the pilgrimage takes place all year. Muslims from all over the world comes to perform Umrah or Hajj. Currently, Saudi Arabia has changed significantly, and possibly even more. It’s been two decades since I’ve been in Saudi Arabia. I have seen plenty of rules and regulations in this country. Earlier, there was no freedom for women; she was not allowed for driving, going out without any male family member, covering herself from top to bottom by wearing the black colour Abhaya (burkha). There was no such place as entertainment, no theatres, and no events. The restaurants had two separate entries FAMILY and SINGLE. In the Family section, only families were allowed to dine; even in the restaurant have cabins inside for each family. And In the Single area, only single men were allowed to treat. Men enter through separate doors and pay in separate lines; women sometimes eat behind partitions to ensure male strangers’ privacy. There was a different weekend, Thursday and Friday. It may be said that expats who come here to earn money were living their lives, but there was no happiness and no air of freedom. But now, for the past three years, I have been able to see a new face in Saudi Arabia. The most significant change is that each woman is entitled to drive. She can drive the car without any male family member. Some women also travel by themselves at Uber (taxi). She can relax with her friends in cafes, shopping malls and even go to the movies. Significant changes have occurred over the last three years, theatres are open, and many more are still underway. Men and women can sit together in the restaurant without any partition; the partition gets only if someone needs it. It is not a compulsion. Weekends have changed, now weekends are popular on Friday and Saturdays. Women’s employment had appeared; I can see them working with men in supermarkets, shopping centres, banks, police and many more areas. Therefore, the evenings outside always tend to revolve around food and (nonalcoholic) drink, the more instagrammable, the better. Fancy Food Truckers are seen; people love diverse varieties around food truckers. Saudi young people are finally Instagrammers. They like to post about food, drinks or any new place they go to relax near the Corniche. The night activities near the Corniche have become, so sporting, women, men, children all come out to enjoy the fresh air. Some people enjoy walking, running, biking or meeting people over snacks or coffee. Many women wore their hair uncovered, and their abayas opened onto jeans and sneakers, styling them more like long, flowing jackets than the traditional dress. Since it is an Islamic country, some rules must be followed: Pork and alcoholic beverages are banned in Saudi Arabia. Females are allowed to dress in modest During the month of Ramadan, fasting is strictly adhered to, and no one is allowed to eat in public areas. “I have seen and lived in this conservative Saudi Arabia, and I am now living in the new age of Saudi Arabia. But I will say that this recent change is welcomed and accepted because it brings a great deal of freedom and happiness. The time that has passed is over, but now it is of great importance because today is the bright future of Saudi Arabia”.
SHE – Women’s Day 2021
Man is born through a woman, is raised by a woman, falls in love with a woman, and marries a woman. And I’m surprised at the man who disrespects a woman. Before anything – She is a human too, just like you. She also has the same desires, dreams, and even the right to live exactly, how you live. Don’t tie her up just for culture’s sake. When she is born, she gets a golden cage with all the provided necessities. She receives all the love, happiness, protection and many good things, except for the right to choose. From her childhood, she is given manners/restrictions in the form of exercise to adapt herself very well in accepting things and circumstances without any regret or any objection. In her golden cage, only those visitors are allowed whom her masters have permitted. As she starts growing, she is being trained for womanhood, so that in future, when her master will change she will be capable of giving that happiness and making the other golden cage happy and fruitful. How far are these things, right? First, she is a daughter, sister, and then becomes a lover, wife, mother, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, and aunt. Where is her life? What is her choice? Where is she? She is everywhere, in every relationship, in every responsibility, in every culture in every need. And the best thing she is only invisible to herself. She forgot her voice, her desires went into the dark hole, and her wishes got wings and ran away somewhere. Our society thinking needs to be changed not just for some ‘likes’ or for some colourful ‘comments’, it needs to change in the right direction. So that each girl, each woman, gets equal freedom what she exactly deserves. She should be the master of her life, of her choices, and of course, you should respect her thinking in the same way as she respects yours. She wasn’t born to serve you at the table or sleep with you every night, even though sometimes she doesn’t want to. Whatever she does in her commitment or any relationship, she does it because she loves you or loves doing it for you. Her love must be respected and understand how important she is to you or your life. She can never compete against you physically, but emotionally, she’s way more robust than you. She has the strength to fight menstrual pain every month or deliver a baby with the traumatic pain she suffers from the nine-month of the challenging journey which you can never even be the part of that pain, what she goes through. Only she has the right to give the birth, and nature gives this right. Only to make some fools understand that never underestimate any woman’s strength or consider her dumb or useless. A woman plays a vital role in society, in your life, in your family with different aspects. Stop toying with her feelings and taking her for granted. She also has a heart, a soul and sentiments like you. If there is a baby girl in your life, groom her with strength and always be proud to be your daughter’s parents. Give her the same rights to decide what she wants, guide her through each stage, but never underestimate her talent, do not curse her in her failures. Do not pressurize her to get married soon; give her that liberty to decide when she wants to settle down. When the girl is born into your family, accept her with much love and blessings. She is the genuine gift of God. Only a few are lucky enough to receive it with passion and care and be ever grateful to the Almighty for making you the gardener of this beautiful flower. With your care and love, it will blossom continually in your life and fill your world with exclusive perfume. Please do not give her a golden cage, give her wings to fly. Give her the right to make choices so she can shape her life wonderfully. She doesn’t need a master to control her life; she needs a soul mate where her rights are treated equally in all the ways. Whether she is your mother, sister, spouse or daughter, please treat them with the same rights and respect. Doing anything for her do not consider as a favour. Don’t be the puppet in trolling her through jokes, just because your friends or surroundings are doing the same. Laughing on wife jokes, makes every husband happy by sharing through, Why You Men do not troll your mother? And then share and laugh in the same way how you do for wife jokes? Think about it! Love her, Respect her and the essential thing understand her in her high/low times. Give your ears to listen to her voice, give your warm hugs to make her feel she is your world; show empathy towards the womanhood. A woman needs only three keys in her life: Acceptance, Respect & Love. Give these keys to her, remember by respecting your respect won’t fall; you will be much appreciated and admired positively. A man is nothing without a woman because she is the one who fashions your formless life into a perfect family image. If you are a son, thank your mother for being a strong supporter for you. If you are a brother, give your sister encouragement. If you are a husband, love your wife endlessly for being with you in all your outbursts. If you are a father, give your daughter strength and confidence. Lastly, if you are not bound to one of these, then become a good man so that any woman will be proud to be with you in the future. And your mother will be proud of her womb.
Dealing With PCOD/ PCOS? Treatment & Medication
Never turn a blind eye to your body’s symptoms. What is PCOD? Polycystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) is also known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). It is a common condition that affects 5% to 10% of women between 12 – 45 years. Most women discover this at age 20 and 30 when they find it difficult to conceive and see their doctor. But PCOS can occur any time after puberty. Most women also discover about PCOS when they suffer from the problem associated with hormonal imbalance. What Causes PCOD? PCOS seems to run in families, so the chance of having it is higher if other women in your family have PCOS, irregular periods or diabetes. It is linked to a sexual hormonal imbalance. As a result, women stop ovulating. She suffers from many pimples and increased facial and body hair growth. Ovaries are too affected; the eggs in these follicles mature and fail to release from the ovaries. Instead, they may form small ovarian cysts. Common Symptoms of PCOD/PCOS include: Acne Weight gain and also the trouble of losing weight Additional facial & body hair. Women suffer from thick, dark facial hair, and they will find more hair on their chest, belly and back. Thinning on the hairline of the scalp. Irregularities in periods. Some women even face a problem without periods, or others have abundant bleeding. Trouble with fertility. Depression and Anxiety PCOD/PCOS Complications: Increased risk of endometrial cancer Infertility Obesity-related disorders such as high blood pressure, cardiac problems and diabetes. Potentially heightened risk of breast cancer. Foods to Avoid: Nutrition plays an essential role in our lives. However, certain foods you should avoid if you are dealing with PCOD. Foods with high levels of refined carbohydrates, such as white bread and muffins. Sugary snacks and beverages Processed foodstuffs and red meat. Well, pretty ladies, if you’re into these kinds of symptoms, then it’s for you… You can’t isolate yourself from your relationships. It is common to have stress and depression. Because due to weight gain, baldness, loss of beauty can lead you to a path of depression (which is natural) But has that ever occurred to you? Your depression can get worse, which can knock you down in a pit. Keep in mind that depression never helps you. Mood swings or emotional volatility can also be a symptom of depression. Since mind and body are interrelated, changes in one can affect others. My personal opinion about depression is that depression is the soul of evil, who will possess your mind to injure you or kill you. So if you are in one of these signs, please check it out with your doctor or talk with someone you trust. Be on a nutrient-rich diet. Exercise regularly to empower and improve your PCOS and mood. Eat healthily, keep your blood sugar levels steady, which is vital to balance your mood – it also helps you lose weight. Being physically active will raise your mood, and it will release wellness chemicals in your brain called endorphins. Exercise may also be a welcome distraction from any evil, negative thoughts that will improve your social interaction. You may also participate in meditation; meditation may help you to relax. Find a form of exercise that makes you happy: walking, running, swimming, yoga or whatever sports activity you prefer. Even five minutes of dancing will do a better job of stimulating your mood. Educate yourself. Knowledge is power Read good books, spend a bit of time that’s appropriate for you. Read some good stuff if you are fond of poems, fictional novels, short stories or self-care books. Give yourself this happiness; reading enhances your stress level. One of the best ways is to communicate your emotions openly with your family, friends or doctor. NEVER ISOLATE YOURSELF FROM SOMEONE OR ANYTHING. Finally, Asking for help is courage, not weakness.
WHERE ARE THOSE DAYS?
Where are those days? When our lazy morning was wrestling with the alarm clock.
14 February – Valentine’s Day
The beautiful rendezvous of lovers is to experience the feelings of love you have for your special. Valentine’s day, the month of Cupidon, it gives you affection, romance and a bundle of passion. Many love stories are born on this selected date, and many hearts are shattered as well. Ouch!! Feels bad, right? The expression of your love through the exchange of gifts does not demonstrate your feelings. Your feelings are the real gift to your partner; no gift can take the place of your feeling that you hold inside yourself. Your words are the pleasant emotions you express when you say not just three magic words; it means more than that. Giving out chocolates, red heart balloons, red roses and a dinner date, does it sound so romantic, right? Nonsense!! The gift never measures love, but your feelings bear much depth and connectedness. Real feelings don’t have words, no language, and only your sincerity, which can be heard and felt. ‘Red Rose’ is the symbol of love; it should be, after all, it is so beautiful with an enchanting seductive scent. But it’s a myth if you carry a bouquet of roses; it means your love is expressed in the highest order. If you want to give something, give your real-time. Today, the time has become a social media world, sitting with your loved ones clicking on selfies, updating the status for many, ‘likes’ and ‘comments’. Is this what Valentine’s Day is all about? Well, it can be for some? I guess. Whatever you do on this day, make it simple and meaningful for you, your relationship and most importantly for your partner. Each day is a Valentine’s Day for all the lovers, but this day is gorgeous. Don’t waste your time behind the Internet; instead, spend your time with each other by accepting certain defects and avoiding the annoying pause. Proceed with love, start your day as it will soon end, and end your day as it is no tomorrow. Love is beautiful, but only love needs your time, small efforts and loyal companions. After all, When it is about feelings We all are fragile… Article By: Shaheen Kazi, The Literature Times
Is it possible to love twice?
Love is a beautiful sensation and expresses a lot of things in silence. Wherever there is Love, there is no need to be practical. Love knows no bounds, no lines, no rules; that is why it is in your heart. You desire to love again and again, but Love is also a dangerous flame. Love brings fantasies, wild imaginations, and if it is deeper, it also ruins your dreams. To love someone secretly is the most painful feeling, but to fall back into Love is the mysterious dealings! Your heart is always young when you are in love, it beats harder than ever, but being in a committed gives violations for this wrong conduct. It is a beautiful experience to find this love in books or movies, but not except actually. Some say, its extramarital affairs, but for secret lovers, it is only just Love. Love can happen twice, triple or more with two different people and with the same intensity. But somewhere someday, a moment intervenes between the two, you have to go further and leave the other far behind. The only difference is that one advance to create new memories with somebody and the other stayed behind broken with only those memories. So Love may happen twice, but more than that depends upon the circumstances in which YOU are, and where YOU will be. Article By: Shaheen Kazi, The Literature Times
Broken Goodbyes – A Short Story
He: Hello She: Hi He: (silence for 2 mins) Yes, may I know who’s calling? She: Wish you many happy returns of the day. (Tears trickle down her cheeks, and the phone is disconnected) He: I still miss you. In this active life, we meet millions of people in various ways; we greet each other or smile softly. And then we forget and move on. But sometimes in life, someone crosses our path, and we can’t go beyond it. We never thought to cross that line at this stage, but we like to do that. We meet, we gossip, we laugh, and gradually he/she becomes a part of our life. We start to enjoy each other; we find their names in our message, over and over again. And every time we receive the news, we open it right away to check, even if there is a simple emoji. He/she messages carry a happy smile on our lips and a pleasant feeling. Our morning starts with each other by sending good morning images or text, and ends by saying good night to each other, only hoping to meet up again the next day in the same way! But what’s the matter? Suddenly, everything stops, no morning pictures, slow texts, late responses, and even the evening end without wishing each other beautiful dream. Our phone battery is still fully charged as it is no longer in use. Why, what happened out of the blue? You scroll chats several times, see the DP quietly your heart wants to send the message, but your mind stops you, and you follow your mind. The other way around, when he/she asks you what happens? You have to develop the well-planned lie (excuse), declaring it too busy on the job. Only to make that person understand that things are different between the two of us. Life or any relationship is easy when there are no problems between them, but this does not happen. When the connection begins to develop in the vicinity, the attachment starts, and there the main question arises. You can never guarantee your heart that it won’t love again or somewhere you won’t fall for someone else as well. In this sort of relationship – age, caste, marital status is ignored when this occurs. But it cannot be overlooked for a long time; somewhere someone has to take a complete stop and think about it. But do you think it’s easy to pull over and move on? Believe me; in practical terms, it works, but not emotionally. If it’s your first love, you’ll fight for everything, but being with someone already and accidentally falling in love with someone else, what happens? Life is very complicated to fall into such a canvas. Silent love is the most dangerous fire that burns within you. In these feelings, you want to do many things; you want to say a lot, but holding yourself is the biggest challenge. You don’t want to break up either; you want to move on; you want to meet and spend a bit of time, but afraid to go ahead. You want to get along, but neither one of you has the strength to do it because somewhere you’re both controlling your feelings. Love is a soft tongue; only the heart speaks, and that soul understands. A few lovers have expressed three magical words, but what about this silent love? It is never said or talked about it, that love gives you smiles and tears very profoundly. When good things are over, it makes you sad. It hurts even more when you break hearts intentionally, and you need to say goodbye to each other and walk into your made-for-yourself world. But the point is how your life changes after that, how you go forward to a new life, with your new lover or with the perfect family. Somewhere near the corner of your heart, only you know who you miss and how much you miss that person. In the silent night of loneliness, he/she is always in your thoughts. ‘Broken goodbyes are the most painful way to solve a problem.’ Short Story By: Shaheen Kazi
