He did a short observership in Rheumatology at Nottingham University, UK. During his twenty-eight years of service, he served in many army units and military hospitals across India. He took retirement in 2016. Post-retirement, the author joined the Amrita School of Medicine as a Professor and Head of the Department of Rheumatology. He served as Vice Principal for a short period in 2017 before he took over as Principal of the Amrita School of Medicine, Kochi. It is one of the finest Medical Colleges in India, founded by the world-renowned spiritual leader Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, popularly known as AMMA.
