During my school days, I used to participate in essay writing competitions and that was like achieving the whole universe for me. When I grew older, I started reading novels, and I don’t know exactly when, but the desire of writing my own novel started to spark inside me. The Rise Insight: What are your favorite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature. Author: Talking about writing, I like to pen down in numerous fields, but yes, fiction is one of my favourites, and my debut novel ‘Is it too late?’ is the proof of that. Please let us know the story behind it. Author: It didn’t take great efforts in deciding the title, ‘Is it too late?’. It automatically popped up in my mind while I was on the very initial chapters of my novel. It’s never too late if you are truly in love, and you’ll get it by your own after reading the book. Author: I have written a number of articles and poems, and some of my work has also been published in anthologies and on online websites. If you are referring to something huge, then I haven’t achieved that yet, but literally hoping earnestly. The Rise Insight: What is your current goal in writing as a career? How do you see your future in writing? Author: As I told you before, writing has always been my prior hobby. ‘Pile of books with my name engraved on their covers’, is literally the dream I am currently living with. I cannot explain how much overzealous I was while writing the manuscript of this book, I did often ride on the clouds to chase the sunlight or visit the unknown amazing lands in search of pearls. Furthermore, I am truly thankful to my friends and the team of Evincepub Publishing who remained with me on this journey. The Rise Insight: What encourages you to become an Author? Mohd Auyoob Mir: A brief but influenced incident of pain is enough to make you something else that you had not thought of. In one way or the other, you try to console your wounded heart, and I do console it by using the pen to stitch its wounds. In other words, I can say the inner frying pain of my heart has drawn a road for me and has made me an author. The Rise Insight: What are your favourite topics of writing? Please tell us something about your interest areas in the literature. Mohd Auyoob Mir: The favourite topic of my writing is my own forlorn heart. It knows its way to reach the goal after being wet under the quilts of pain. In addition, It can’t stay on one particular topic of writing, as its goal is to change the directions. I do confirm, all the areas of literature are interested, but I have my deep sympathy on the topics like unrequited love, hypocrisy, social evil, motherly love etc. The Rise Insight: We were hoping you could tell us about some of those writers who had inspired you and whom you follow! Mohd Auyoob Mir: There are many writers in English literature who inspired me by their thoughts. I am particularly inspired by William Butler Yeats, John Keats, Robert Browning, Matthew Arnold, Keki N. Daruwalla, Nissim Ezekiel etc who do create the magic upon readers through every line of the poems. I cannot explain the zenith of imagination within the poems of above-mentioned poets, as their poems has already sown such seeds onto the hearts of readers. The Rise Insight: The title of your book seem different and catchy; how you decided it? Please let us know the story behind it. Mohd Auyoob Mir: Obviously, the title is different and catchy. After completing the manuscript of my debut collection, the problem of the title raised in my mind, and I read the whole collection five times for sorting out the problem. On getting the idea, I decided to name it, “Moonstruck — Love Birds are Made to Carry the Pain”. The idea about the title came into my mind after reading the particular poem, “Mr Moonstruck” in my debut collection. It took me 10 days to decide the title for my debut book. The Rise Insight: What are your achievements so far? Tell us something about your writing career. Mohd Auyoob Mir: From time to time, I write the articles for newspapers. I have also got success in publishing some of my poems through online journals. Initially, I was reluctant to publish something, but later on The Merciful Lord put the flame of Courage into my heart and I got success. Mohd Auyoob Mir: Indian writing in the 21st century has got success to free it from the tea cups of England, here it is necessary to quote, Dr S P Dhanavel, Professor of English, Anna University, Chennai, he states, “The 21st century has proved to the world that English literature is no longer the sole province of the imperial England. Although English literature started and flourished in England, it has gone on to sow the seeds of creativity in English in other parts of the world. Interestingly, the English people themselves paved the way for the unexpected developments that we witness today. When the English colonizers went to America, they began to write their literature of the Americas. Similarly, those English men and women who went to Australia began the process of new literature called Australian literature. And so is the case with Canada, India, and Africa.” The Rise Insight: How easy/ difficult it was for you to publish your book? What message would you like to give to budding authors?
