Almost a year has passed without a lead in the case. Did she run away? Or something happened to her? …Is she alive?… Or Dead? The disappearance of a smart, intelligent girl while raising numerous questions points to the apathy of the cops and their helplessness at locating her; also points to sinister agendas and facades people keep. Having no leads for months on end, the case has gotten cold. Until another girl goes missing. This time however they receive a video; it’s brutal. The cops must race against time to rescue her, but before that, they must revisit the cold case if they were to have any chance at rescuing the latest victim. Deeper they get, the deeper they unravel the mystery surrounding the former. But the important question remains: Will the girls be rescued? Or, lost forever? An Interview with Author Jasmine Juneja The Rise Insight: Can you tell us a little about yourself and how you got into writing? Jasmine Juneja: Well, writing was something I’d been wanting to do right from the time I began reading books. Though at the time, it was considered a hobby of the rich and the elite, who didn’t have to worry about where their bread and butter was coming from, that’s why I never pursued it in the early stages of my life. In fact, I never even vocalized my internal desire to anyone beside a friend or two. Nonetheless, you end up doing what your heart really wants sooner or later. So, here I am. The Rise Insight: Your book, “Mystery Behind The Disappeared,” deals with a dark and complex subject matter. What drew you to write about missing girls and the complexities surrounding the investigations? Jasmine Juneja: It’s a realistic subject. A subject of social cause, something we cannot turn a blind eye to. I’d always wanted to write a story that intrigued me, and at the same time, was educative and informative. I’m glad while entertaining, this book has been able to achieve that, with a right doze of problems encountered at various levels. After all, life is not all rosy and dreamy as it’s made out to be in movies; but we must drive towards that objective by pushing forward even when the going gets tough, and pave the way for generations to follow. The Rise Insight: How did you approach researching for the book? Was there anything you discovered that surprised you? Jasmine Juneja: In fact, I was really taken aback by the practice, social stigmas, and pressures of the current times that, when I researched and read articles about it, many glaring facts were brought to my knowledge, which moved me. More than being surprised, I was saddened by the state-of-affairs despite living in times when we have expert police personnel. But tragically, the number of police force and cases to be handled are so highly unproportionate that even pre-emptive measures may seem inconsequential. The Rise Insight: The book explores the perspectives of both the victims, family and the police officers handling the case. What challenges did you face in creating realistic and sympathetic portrayals of both groups? Jasmine Juneja: For a subject to reach audience and touch them, it is essential to create characters as realistic as the problem. Only when you do that can you identify and understand the perspective of each character. We must also understand that each individual, working or not, is struggling and trying to do the best in their given circumstances. I don’t want to sound preachy but through this mindset, I wish to convey to have empathy for others, and if once can extend help, one should. The Rise Insight: The book deals with themes of power, corruption, and the lengths people will go to maintain their reputations. How did you approach weaving these themes into the narrative, and what did you want to convey to readers through them? Jasmine Juneja: Isn’t it the truth of life as we speak. Power, corruption, and keeping appearances is the reality of our society today. You may find these abundantly in some places. I have not created anything devious on my own, but shown a mirror of problems faced by many on a daily basis. Apathy, betrayal, manipulation, greed, lust are the undercurrents themes of the book; traits that have piqued over the last two decades especially. The Rise Insight: One of the key strengths of the book is its pacing and the way you balance suspense and intrigue with the need to reveal enough information to keep readers engaged. How did you approach this balance, and what advice do you have for writers looking to develop similar skills? Jasmine Juneja: I myself like to read pacy thrillers, so just kept true to my nature. To keep the readers hooked and increase their appetite to know what happens next is essential for any mystery/thriller. If you are able to achieve that, you have won half the battle. My only suggestion is to
Interview with Bibhuti Das Author of the book : Police in Blunderland
Welcome everyone, I am thrilled to introduce our special guest today, Bibhuti Das, the author of the book “Police in Blunderland”.
Mystery Behind the Disappeared by Author Jasmine Juneja: Book Review
“Mystery Behind The Disappeared” by Jasmine Juneja is a riveting novel that takes you on a journey through the dark alleys of Delhi, India, where two girls have gone missing under mysterious circumstances. The story is a thrilling mystery that keeps you on the edge of your seat until the very end. The story begins with the disappearance of a young girl, and the police’s inability to locate her despite months of investigation. The family is distraught, and the police are under pressure to find the girl. The case is soon forgotten until another girl goes missing, and this time, the police receive a video that is too brutal to watch. The author has done an excellent job of building the suspense and keeping the reader engaged throughout the story. The characters are well-developed and believable, and the plot is well thought out. The story takes unexpected twists and turns, keeping the reader guessing until the very end. The book also highlights the apathy of the police and the media towards the missing girls. It sheds light on how cases involving people from privileged backgrounds receive more attention than those involving the less privileged. It also exposes the sinister agendas and facades that people keep, and how they can be used to manipulate situations. The author has also done a fantastic job of describing the setting of the story. The book transports you to the streets of Delhi, and you can almost feel the heat and smell the pollution. The author has also managed to capture the socio-economic divide in the city, and how it affects the lives of people. The only downside of the book is that some of the characters are not given enough screen time. The author could have delved deeper into their backgrounds and motivations, making them more relatable to the reader. However, this does not detract from the overall reading experience. In conclusion, “Mystery Behind The Disappeared” is a fantastic read that is sure to keep you entertained. It is a well-written book that is full of suspense and mystery. It sheds light on important social issues, making it more than just a thrilling read. An Interview with Rashika Ranjini – Whispers of a Snowfall
In a parallel universe, Rashika is sure to be a professional juggler, because in this universe, she certainly aspires to be one. Her mind-bogglingly diverse interests range from wildlife conservation to human rights advocacy, from mental health awareness to physical fortitude building, and from reading voraciously to scribbling incessantly. She dabbles in art, writing, and music when life permits and firmly believes in tenacity and perseverance. Giving and sharing are very close to Rashika’s heart. She has founded Pari, a handmade decor, crafts, and jewellery brand, that focuses on selling art for charity. Pari has had a successful run thus far, with their creations getting all sold out during recent exhibitions and sale fests. Pari is planned for further expansion as a provider of digital accessible career-focused education and training to under-privileged women who wish to equip themselves with skills for sustainable careers. The Rise Insight: We would like to begin by congratulating you on the publication of “Whispers of a Snowfall.” How has the response to the book been so far? Rashika Ranjini: Thank you so much. The responses have been very motivating. I was quite jittery about getting this book out there, but it’s heartening to see the praise and comments via email and DM, and I am so glad I did not chicken out of getting this book published. The Rise Insight: What led to the idea of writing “Whispers of a Snowfall”? Were there any events that inspired the work? Rashika Ranjini: I wouldn’t want to claim that this has been dwelling on my mind for months and years and decades. The idea of writing this collection up started from just one poem – and the credit for inspiring that goes to Signorina Winter of course. One poem grew into a collection, and I am so thrilled that I am able to share my words with the world today. The Rise Insight: How easy or difficult was it for you to decide the placement of poetry in “Whispers of a Snowfall” and keep it simple to understand for the readers? Rashika Ranjini: I started scribbling one poem, and I felt I couldn’t contain all my thoughts into just one. At the same time, I did not want to combine and club all the different enthralling factors of Winter into just one poem. So I started thinking of each segment of Winter that has played a strong part of my childhood, and my memories, and thus was born this collection. I strongly believe that writing that comes from the heart would definitely resonate with the readers. Hence I just tried my best to articulate my thoughts as best as I could. The Rise Insight: “Whispers of a Snowfall” shows the uniqueness of your style of writing. Are there any poets that you enjoy reading or any books which are your favorites? Rashika Ranjini: Maya Angelou and Margaret Atwood have been two of my greatest inspirations. I grew up plastering posters of their words on my walls. Emily Dickinson’s poems have figured in my favourites list, as have as have Edgar Allan Poe’s and ST Coleridge’s. The Rise Insight: How would you categorize “Whispers of a Snowfall” as its appeal seems to be to a broad audience? Rashika Ranjini: This book does not really have a single rivet point. It’s an effort resulting from a moment of inspiration, that gave rise to several moments. I honestly believe that the more spontaneous and prompt poetry is, the more endearing it becomes. From that perspective, I can say that “being spontaneously thought provoking, porting the reader into a world of reflective meditation”, is what this book is all about! The Rise Insight: “Whispers of a Snowfall” has given a powerful introduction to your potential as a writer. Can the readers expect more from you in the future? Please share about your future projects. Rashika Ranjini: I am working on two projects at the moment – a fantasy series, from which I am currently writing Book One – The Hymns of Angamoria. I am also working on a non-fiction project, which I am hoping to release later this year – Chartered for Magnificence. The Rise Insight: What is the story behind the title of your work, “Whispers of a Snowfall”? Rashika Ranjini: As evident from my ranting, Winters have been very special to me right from a very young age. The spirit of giving, the cheer in the air, the echoes of the year that’s ending, the eager and almost impatient anticipation of the new year, and at the same time, the yearning of wanting to hold on to the end of the year a wee bit longer, and the resolutions being made once we step into the new year, and the glee with which we look forward to the first flowers of Spring, all make Winters a glorious time. I started thinking of each segment of Winter that has played a strong part of my childhood, and my memories, and thus was born this collection. The Rise Insight: Thank you very much for sparing your time. I look forward to reading more books from you in the future. All the best. Rashika Ranjini: Thanks lots for the thought-provoking questions. This was a fun interview session.

Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: Well since we know each other for over a decade and have been working together on so many projects, it was but natural to put together our learnings and share it for the benefit of the Edu community. When we joined the education industry way back in 2011, we struggled to quickly come up with the most efficient model for building a school brand. Unfortunately, we did not find any reading material and had to learn everything by experimenting and learning from our and other’s journey as no one has ever written on the subject. It was at that time we thought that once our learning grows we will share it with the larger community and then decided that there is no better way and putting it all together in a book and share it with the world. The Rise Insight: How difficult was it to write this debut book? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: We have been writing articles, blogs in past so putting down our thoughts was not a challenge but the biggest challenge was taking out time to think, structure and then flesh out the thoughts so that it’s an interesting and an easy read. But when you are driven by the desire to share with the community your experience so that they benefit and build stronger school brands, everything else falls in place. We dug into our experience and researched a lot and have put together many anecdotes, case studies, tips and toolkit so that the reader can quickly internalise the model. The Rise Insight: What are the ideals of a good branding strategy according to you? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: A good branding strategy is all about your purpose of existence, the problem you solve in consumer’s life. Consumers don’t connect with what you do; they connect with the reason why you do it. They want to understand how you do it differently and add real value in their lives. The idea is not to do business with everyone who needs what you have, but to do with people who believe in what you believe in. Branding strategy should help you define that!! The Rise Insight: Why do you think that school branding is important today? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: With parents becoming more discerning, they want to give their kids the best of education and want to connect with brands that deliver what they promise and help their kids achieve what they aspire to be. Stronger branding helps school create trust, gets them to scale up faster and help recruit the best of faculty in the town. The Rise Insight: What makes your book unique in the non-fiction genre? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: Education is the single biggest gift that one can give to the other generation but unfortunately there are few authors who have written on the subject and particularly on building up of school brands. The book gives an already tested model which would help schools build stronger brand and achieve their goals efficiently. The Rise Insight: According to you, who exactly should be involved in planning a branding strategy of a school? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: The founders and the school leadership team needs to put in place the strategy and a team to constantly execute and monitor the results. Generally, most of the schools have a shared responsibility of marketing with one of the other function heads which is why they suffer and are unable to build stronger brands efficiently. It’s high time that specific marketing teams are set up in schools to drive and monitor initiatives to build the school brand in a more methodical way. The Rise Insight: Is running a school a good investment in today’s market according to you? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: There are a lot of challenges that the industry faces. However, the sheer joy of imparting the best gift to humanity and seeing joyful recipients of education the kids around alone makes it a phenomenal investment any day. Leaving aside measurement in terms of joy, financially running a school is a great investment if you build your brand the right way. The Rise Insight: What are the other books that you are working on? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: Well the aspiration is to write a trilogy covering another 2 sectors that we have experience with. The work has commenced on the second book however let’s give that a little more time before we speak about it. The Rise Insight: What will be the catch phrase or tagline of your brand of school? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit Handa: “Building Future.” The Rise Insight: According to you, how educated is the Indian population today about branding their business? Rakesh Gupta/ Sumit
