Actually, the central government has implemented the new rules laws related to social media platforms and OTT platforms from tomorrow. The new guidelines will cover social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and OTT platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hotstar. Under the new rules, there will be grading of web platforms and films of digital platforms like movies. The OTT content is graded in 6 categories. These categories are as follows:
U : Universal
U / A for all
U / A 7+ for general audience
U / A for above 13 years of age.
U / A 16+ for those over 16 years of age
A : for Adults
OTT platforms will have to be allowed from the government
Some rules have been issued by the government for the producers of web shows, under which the producers have to take permission from the government for film and web shows. Only then can they be released on the OTT platform. This means that if you are under 18 years, you will not be able to access the web content and movies of Adult Content A category.
